This fine Pozole Thursday started with refreshing, almost cool weather. High clouds gave way to blue sky and plump cumulus clouds. Then right before sunset ominous dark clouds rolled in and conditions changed rather drastically.

It looks like we're finally going to get that rain we needed. Could be up to 150 mm of rain along our part of the coast. We've already seen some wind gusts that arrived with the rain late this afternoon, blowing hard enough to send people running from the waterfront to find cover. The rain oscillates between moderate and torrential, but our street hasn't flooded yet. ¡Toca madera!

We could see wind gusts up to 80 km/h, so bring your laundry in. Things are expected to get nasty around 5 in the morning. I hate that when that happens!

Schools will be closed this Friday. The Capitanía del Puerto has closed navigation to the fishermen who fish outside the bay for this Thursday evening-Friday morning due to conditions outside the bay. I saw boats rushing to return from Las Gatas as the rain arrived, but not many. Isla Ixtapa remained open today, but this Friday could be a different story if the waves pick up, and I expect they will

For those of you with vacation plans for this weekend: I'd hold off for a couple of days. The rains will likely cause landslides and flooding, so the roads will be dangerous. If you're flying, well...

Besides the webcams on my Beaches page, keep up with local weather here on my website at:

[image]A place I really like to recommend, like an oasis in paradise, is Casa Tucanes. A beautiful vacation lodging located on the edge of La Ropa's coconut grove surrounded by lush gardens, a short walking distance to the beach. They offer three 1- and 2-bedroom villas, two 2-bedroom bungalows and two simple guest rooms. They also have a pool, they are pet friendly and wonderful hosts.

Had a heavy downpour from 5p to 6p.
Nice loud rain accompanied by great thunder and lightning.
Started raining heavy again around 2 am.
Nice cool breeze at the moment listening to the birds chirping and singing.

They all seem to be working fine for me.

We got a few brief but heavy rains and a morning of light rain. Probably more on the way before clearing up late this afternoon.

Nice predictable rain till 9ish.

Strong breeze till 11ish then muggy.

Nice breeze on La Ropa this afternoon and currently great slow breeze.

Did a lot of driving and errands today and it is slow about town.
