Health insurance in Mexico

There are definitely limits as to what emergency services are available here. Not good for emergency things, but for "regular" stuff, specialists routinely visit and see patients.

Tim's example is a good one. Ambulances here are to get you quickly to a hospital/clinic so you can be treated. They are not paramedics, more of delivery service. Something to be aware of if you choose to live here.
