Tuesday evening it rained fairly steady during most of the night. It got so cool we had to sleep under the sheet and turn the fan on low. The winds slowly died down, and right at sunrise the rain stopped. So when we stepped outside to walk our dog everything was still freshly wet and dripping. Fresh locally grown coffee and a bolillo relleno de barbacoa de puerco made it an absolutely perfect morning!

Another brief rain shower happened around noon that brought the temperature down. I don't think it even reached 30°C today. Made for a perfect siesta time, one of my favorite local customs! Please don't call or come by between 2 and 5!

This evening we were all treated to a spectacular double rainbow over Zihuatanejo right at sunset. I expect I'll make that my photo for this Thursday evening. Right after it faded and the sun went down, we got another nice little rain in Zihuatanejo. Ahhhhh. Perfect!

Just because this is the slow season doesn't mean it's dead here. There are people out'n'about and there are visitors coming and going. Locals tend to have more celebrations and family get-togethers during this time of year because they aren't as busy. It helps keep many restaurants going. Lots of good deals can be found at many local lodgings, and lodgings that are hard to find room at during high season will have discounts and availability. Tour guides and charter boats are easier to schedule since they aren't as busy, and their tours are even better without crowds to deal with. And local shopkeepers anxious to make sales offer good discounts. The scenic and verdant hills are much more attractive at this time of year. And we've been especially lucky not to have any bad storms this season, just mostly some nice rain showers. It's a wonderful time to be here!
