Saturday night there was another event with music and poetry in Plaza del Artista. They seem to have learned to keep their sound at much more tolerable levels since the walls and floors in our home weren't vibrating to the music the past two nights. Perfect! I posted some video of the Fandango Costeño on my Facebook and BlueSky pages, if anyone is interested. See the links at the bottom of the page.

:tornado: My thoughts are with the people of Jamaica who are about to suffer a direct hit from catastrophic Cat 5 hurricane named Melissa. Damages are expected to take generations to repair as nothing like this has ever hit Jamaica in recorded history. Then it will hit southeastern Cuba before slamming into the Turks & Caicos and the southern Bahamas. It was two years ago that a similar storm named Otis slammed into Acapulco, a disaster that many people still haven't recovered from, and the bottom of its bay continues to be littered with unretrieved boats.

:brilliant: But this Sunday in Zihuatanejo was simply another perfect beach day, and the hundreds of visitors here certainly appeared to be enjoying themselves today at our beaches and restaurants and posing with the Día de Muertos decorations all along the downtown waterfront. We saw a truck carting luggage to one the hotels along Avenida La Boquita that has been mostly empty since buses stopped parking near Plaza Kioto, so maybe they've started transporting hotel guests from Cinco de Mayo.

:trophy: The Gran Premio de México didn't disappoint. Many drivers, commentators and aficionados said it was the best race ever at the Hipódromo de los Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. ¡Viva México!

Be sure to check out all the events coming up for Día de Muertos on my Community Notices & Events page.

Three apartments that can be rented all together or individually, each beautifully decorated with Mexican handcrafts, and they share a pool and Jazuzzi. One with two en-suite bedrooms and two with one bedroom each as well as a sofa or pull out bed. All with full kitchens, living area, balconies, and shared access to a garden with BBQ facilities as well as the rooftop terrace. (click to enlarge photo)
