Our sunny hot and humid days continue. Hardly a cloud all day except in the sierra, and of course this morning a few thunderheads could be seen passing by offshore, taunting us. The few visitors in town were at the beach cooling off in the extremely calm waters of the Pacific Ocean since sunrise. While Ixtapa's hotels seem to have quite a few guests, we're not seeing them in Zihuatanejo.

A federal judge in Mexico ruled yesterday that Uber can pick up and drop off passengers at airports nationwide without fear of being detained. This is not going to go over well at all with local taxi unions, including Transporte Terrestre, but they will have to respect the law. This could help make local taxi prices come down and be more competitive. Locally we have over 600 taxis authorized to work in Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa. Too many. And the fault lies with politicians seeking votes and granting too many concessions.

Again, I have to mention that most Mexicans, including our presidenta, are extremely upset with the U.S. government for murdering people at sea in front of our coast. Apart from the people who will eventually be held accountable once the current criminal regime falls, such senseless, illegal and unacceptable acts of violence by the U.S. government put the lives of all U.S. citizens abroad at risk. Diaper Donny needs to be spanked and sent to his room without supper!

On a brighter note, Daniel's Restaurant on Playa Principal in Zihuatanejo has reopened for the season. Come enjoy your favorite foods and refreshments in a romantic setting on the beach next to the Cancha Municipal. Currently only open for lunch and dinner, but they said they will soon be open for breakfast, and there will also be live music soon.

Deborah's Restaurant in Ixtapa is serving up a fang-tastic special Halloween menu that's scarily good! Eat your heart out! Available October 31st 4-11pm! Reservations are recommended.
