This Sunday morning roads will be closed between downtown, the Unidad Deportiva and La Ropa for a jogging event from 6AM until 9AM. Don't be in a hurry to get anywhere, traffic will probably be a mess.
Surfing conditions aren't too bad, with wave heights averaging around 1 meter, okay for beginners and easy riders. The water remains comfortably warm at around 29.5°C. This Saturday was a perfect day to relax in the shade by the sea with a cool refreshment.
A good deal of visitors arrived for the weekend in spite of a serious accident on the Carretera Siglo XXI that closed it down for several hours. Our inland cities in the higher altitudes are getting some nippy temperatures, making the weekends on the coast even more attractive than normal. Local merchants are enjoying slow but steady sales. The biggest spenders continue being our Gringo visitors for whom we are extremely grateful.
One of the nicer more affordable vacation rentals in La Madera neighborhood is Casa Linda located atop the small hill at La Madera with views of the bay and town. Three apartments that can be rented all together or individually, each beautifully decorated with Mexican handcrafts, and they share a pool and Jazuzzi. One with two en-suite bedrooms and two with one bedroom each as well as a sofa or pull out bed. All with full kitchens, living area, balconies, and shared access to a garden with BBQ facilities as well as the rooftop terrace. They still have availability during March including for the Guitarfest. (click to enlarge photo)
