¡Feliz Día de la Constitución Mexicana!

A light cool breeze this Thursday morning was a wonderful start to another perfect day. Though the skies overhead were clear all day, this morning rain clouds were visible to the west, and later this afternoon they appeared to the east. But we remain ¡sala'o! with no rain for us.

The only visitors we saw out'n'about today appeared to be folks from up north, and most of those seem to be Canadians.

This coming Saturday and Sunday we have a culinary event for traditional Guerrero recipes (with mezcal) coming up in the museum and at the Cancha Municipal. Then next Tuesday is the Tianguis de Primavera de Barra de Potosí. Not sure why they call it a spring fair in the middle of winter, but it's the same weather for us.

With so few sailboats in the bay, it doesn't look like the Sailfest is going to be much of a sailboat event this year. And it appears to the local public like it's being put on by the municipal government. How'd THAT happen?

Nothing but more absolutely picture-postcard-perfect weather in our foreseeable future. Ahhhh!

Though the surf is small, the currents can still be strong, and last weekend several visitors were rescued at Playa Linda after being swept away by the currents.

One year I was in Dawson Creek, British Columbia at the time of the Fall Fair. It was held each year on the weekend of the first Monday in August.

Another year I was in the small mining town of Elsa, Yukon. I arrived on May 21. There was snow on the ground. I left on August 17. There was forecast for the next day, Yukon Heritage Day, was snow.

I remember flying from Mexico City to Denver in early February of 1975, and it was so cold when I arrived at the airport I couldn't even ask for a taxi on my first try outdoors at the taxi stand, all I could do was stutter. It took a second try after going back inside and warming back up. But after two weeks in Boulder I was out shoveling snow in a t-shirt. I get how you northern folks can get acclimated to freezing weather, but man oh man do I love and prefer our tropical weather!

I have been mostly in Canada for many years but I never got used to our winters and they are getting worse for me as it is now more humid in the winter than it used to be. In Zihua by late March it starts to get more humid and I struggle a bit with that humid heat but would take this over our humid cold any day!
