Unwelcome locals

While I normally buy my coffee at Café Caracol I never went upstairs until today. It is a lovely spot with great coffee and nice views but there were some rather inquisitive ardillas running around on the balcony rails and trees. Cute but apparently they do urinate on the tables. I had not seen them here in a few years. I use to see them on Andador del Pescador before they lost some of their trees.

Ha! I see them outside my window during much of the day. Some people give them pan dulce to eat, making them fat without the nutrients they actually need, so of course they now bring the entire clan for the daily feast. They've mostly lost their fear of humans, which is probably not a good thing for their survivability. But I'm just glad there are still some wild living creatures around. Our local bat population seems to have taken a hard hit. Same with insects. But the condos continue sprouting on our soon-to-be-treeless hillsides.
