Clima Que No DecepZIHona
Storm clouds were visible on the horizon at dawn, then over the sierra during the afternoon and evening, but no such luck in Zihuatanejo where it was simply another picture-postcard-perfect day in paradise. A gentle breeze and a cooler ocean kept temperatures mild even though the humidity made it feel warmer.
The surf is expected to pick up this Thursday and continue improving into next week with waves of a meter or so high. Not giant, but certainly better for surfers than the tiny waves we've seen for the past couple of weeks. Hopefully it won't affect the kayak and SUP race in the bay this Friday morning.
Medium-sized tuna continues to be caught, improving the fare at local restaurants. We are fortunate to live where our local fish supply meets the local demand. Hopefully, the demand won't continue increasing. We've already just about wiped out local supplies of certain seafoods from unrestrained growth and overconsumption, a common bane in tourist destinations especially.
I sure enjoyed my MANGO LICUADO this morning! The long-awaited mango season has arrived! And we live in the best state for mangos. Aren't we lucky?
One of Zihuatanejo's most authentic lodgings that best represents the old Zihuatanejo many of us fell in love with is Bambutreehouse. A lovely two-bedroom, two-bath open-air traditional home located on a low hill just a short walk from La Ropa Beach. Features a full-kitchen, daily maid service and wi-fi internet service. A little bit of Zihuatanejo heaven. Currently with dates available this season. (click to enlarge photo)

Bamboo Treehouse
I stayed in her now deceased little sister the Hummingbird Treehouse many years ago and it was delightful.
The owner - Grace Relf - is having an art show with Tamara Zapata at the Museo Wednesday March 11.

Thanks for the info, amigo. Yes, it's a beautiful place to stay. A lifestyle I fell in love with over 50 years ago when I first lived here. Grace is a wonderful and very entertaining host. One of La Ropa's originals.
Bamboo Treehouse
I have commissioned Tamara to produce two large paintings in the past couple years. Thrilled with both of them. She is a versatile artist who is great to work with!
The Bamboo Treehouse
Tamara, the sweetest lady around here.
