So far, no real fish happenings along the edges of la ropa and towards las gatas while we paddle in the mornings. Yet

The feeding frenzy continues in Zihuatanejo's bay as numerous schools of sardines attract predators that chase them close to shore. Fishermen in pangas and others along the shore have been filling their buckets with fresh fish large and small for days, and it just keeps getting better as more schools of fish keep arriving. Hundreds of pelicans and other seabirds have been enjoying their fill, diving over and over until they can't eat anymore. Such a beautiful sight each morning and early evening!

It was sad walking by the now closed Daniel's Restaurant on the waterfront this evening and seeing several couples of visiting foreigners standing there obviously upset to see one of their favorite bars and restaurants closed. A damn shame this has happened.

Amazingly there's a small chance of rain this coming weekend. It continues to rain in parts of the sierra, and some days we can see the clouds pass us by. So frustrating, but totally typical for this time of year. Meanwhile, the green continues fading on our hillsides.

Small waves make it frustrating for surfers. They've been so small that at times I can't even hear them at night even though I live right on the beach. But the swimming is good even at Playa El Palmar in Ixtapa lately.

There was a group of students from Prepa 13 this late afternoon in Plaza del Artista with a painting project where they asked the participation of passersby to contribute to a work of art they had set up. Pretty cool! And lots of folks were contributing to it. Reminds me of something we did in St. Croix back in '72 with friends Richard and Rachel Baringer and my mother and her artist boyfriend Michael Connors while we were doing mescaline into the wee hours. We were all painting together on a "work of art" that Richard whitewashed when he woke up and saw it the next day.
