Maybe someone knows the answer: She said the passport office here was coming, "soon." We'd like to have an idea when so as to avoid a trip elsewhere to get passports.

She usually responds to me quickly on her Facebook page, but we've known each other for years, so maybe that's why.

As far as I know the SRE is expected to open its offices at the ayuntamiento before the year's end. Have you called the ayuntamiento's switchboard to ask? (755) 555 0700, (755) 554 2068

I suspect that the passport office will be exactly the same way, some time in this lifetime.

I once politely asked the then Presi, her husband, about the opening of a new office/seevice, and was told within 6 weeks. That was 4 years ago and the office/service never appeared. I recently inquired and was told the Feds are to blame.

Part of the charm is no longer getting frustrated.
