So agree with you. We, too, have been tipping modestly, 20 pesos. All of the workers are friendly and helpful.

The plantings of the night blooming cactus are very impressive too. Be sure to check them out.

Plastic and Glass (reply)

I was pleasantly surprised at how organized, clean and efficient the recycling location is. It takes all sorts of plastics, not just bottles. I bundle up my soft plastics into a soft plastic bag and the take that as well.

They sort the bottles and other glass items by colour, e.g., brown beer bottles, green beer bottles, clear bottles and jars… so I sort those at home while I collect them. They gave even taken styrofoam packing.

Aside from the organized nature of the operation, every employee I have dealt with there seemed to be genuinely happy at work. And appreciative of the modest (M$20) tips that I give them.

Plastic and Glass

I would like to recycle plastic and glass bottles. Aluminum can collectors have gathered our visitors' can ‘inventory’ here on La Ropa. I searched the Message Board archive and found “There is a recycling drop off place a few blocks up from Plaza Kioto, going towards Avenido Morelos. It is just behind DIF (#15 Aguacate) in Centro. It is a very clean, organized place. They take cardboard, glass. hard plastic, tin cans, aluminum etc.” Posted by moonbirds2 on November 04, 2024.

Is this info current?

Many thanks to Rob for the Message Board and to all who recycle.
