Monday night, the evening before Día de los Reyes Magos, groups of people with children were still out'n'about well past midnight wandering the Paseo del Pescador and its plazas. Children filled with a similar excitement as kids from the States and Canada feel on Christmas Eve.

This evening at the Cancha Municipal there was a huge public event for the children to receive their gifts from the Reyes Magos. Hundreds of kids with their parents were lined up from the museum on one side and from the Sector Naval on the other. It was difficult to get through the crowds. But once the line started moving, it was all over in less than half an hour. Amazing.

Crowds were way down today. Parking is still a disaster downtown, but there were hardly any bus tourists around. Slowly but surely more and more extranjeros from the cold north are showing up and filling up the waterfront and downtown restaurants. Thank goodness! While I've seen signs of increased animosity towards Gringos in social media, I've seen none of it here. Something for which I'm truly grateful.

Villas Los Arcos at Playa La Ropa is a wonderful lodging I truly enjoy being able to recommend. As if La Ropa isn't beautiful enough, this exquisitely designed and decorated lodging is a place one feels instantly at home in. I wish visitors would simply spend more time in lodgings like this instead of cutting down more of our trees and clearing more land to build more vacation and retirement homes.
