¡FELIZ DÍA DE LA BANDERA MEXICANA!

This Tuesday morning was much warmer than previous days. Clouds showed up, the humidity rose, and this evening it's looking like it might rain. Clouds in the sierra were dark gray before the sunlight gave out. A chance of rain appears in the forecast for the next few days, though mostly in the nearby sierra. But we still benefit from it.

The surf looks like it's going to pick up for the weekend, so surfers should be able to get their jollies after so many slow and disappointing days. The water has cooled to 27°C, which is about the limit of comfort for many locals. Any cooler and we turn blue in the water.

Today was a normal day in most of Mexico. No more narco protests. I'd rather live in a country where the criminals protest against the federal government than where the people do.

This evening at the Cancha Municipal there was a Competencia de Bandas de Guerra (marching band competition) from different local schools. Lots of locals and visitors including from north of the border were there. The bands were great! Quite an amazing event! Even more amazing by the presence of what looked to be a full company of Guardia Nacional, Marina and Ejército present providing extra security along the waterfront. Lupita and I took the time to thank as many of them as we could for their presence and for their service. We are extremely proud of them and grateful for what they do. I know they appreciate the recognition.

Enjoy spectacular views of Zihuatanejo's bay from A View at the Sea, a beautiful and modern 2-bedroom vacation rental condo with a terrace located at the "Casa Que Ve Al Mar" complex. It features a fully equipped kitchen, internet access, cable & satellite TV, 24-hour security, and a pool and sun deck right out the front door. There are still dates available for the holidays. (click to enlarge photo)
