SO slow that we ventured out to breakfast this morning, didn't last week, and the restaurant parking lot was totally empty and so was the restaurant. By the time we finished there were a few people. Generally quite busy on Monday. It's scary how dead business' are.

Went to Sam's for dog food and pool store for chlorine so if the transport strike hits hard the dogs can eat and the pool will stay clear.

Refreshing morning weather continues. Enjoy it while it lasts!

The faithful were out early with food and music and sermons on the beach in front of the Museo this morning, waking all the neighbors with their "devotion". But what (naturally) caught my attention was a pretty Mexican girl in a bikini taking dozens of selfies of herself on the beach in front of the water. The sun wasn't even up yet, and here was a young, short athletic girl posing over and over and over and over. I almost wanted to lend her a hand taking her photos. But actually I found it rather sad that such a pretty girl was alone in such a beautiful place and this was what she thought was important to do. There were people nearby whom she could've asked to snap her photo, but she just kept propping her camera up against what looked like a tripod (instead of using the tripod) and snapping away. I did my entire morning bathroom and exercise routine, and she was still snapping selfies when Lupita and I left to take our dog for a walk. I actually see a lot of this. Pretty girls putting on the pouty face and taking selfie after selfie while ignoring everything else going on around them. Why go on vacation? I thank my lucky stars this isn't the culture I had to grow up in. I have enough difficulty making time for my daily messages here. Gee, I hope somebody reads these and enjoys the music, the comments and the photos. Am I being self-absorbed and vain like the pouty-faced girls by posting these every day?

Road travelers are heading home this Sunday to try to beat the mega-roadblocks set to occur this Monday by truck drivers all over the country. If you have somewhere to go by road, you should've been there already.

For Semana de Pascua we usually see tourists who are a bit more affluent than the first week of Semana Santa. Though with so many charter bus tourists this may not actually hold true much longer. But let's hope so, because everyone is complaining about the lack of sales. After this week there won't be much other than weekend tourists to look forward to until mid-July.

The waves from the mar de fondo effect should be getting significantly smaller over the next three days before picking back up again in time for next weekend, though not as large as they were this weekend.

They share a large palapa that functions as a living area with a bar and kitchen in front of a pool overlooking the beach. The perfect lodging for a perfect vacation. (click to enlarge photo)
