There was a pelican walking around on the pier Wednesday evening. Following the guys with the atarrayas!

Yepper. My saint of a wife had to shame a fisherman with his atarraya into giving it a couple of his smaller fish. Then as we were leaving the pier there was a small ray stranded on the beach in front of the Sector Naval, and she helped get it back in the water with another young lady who was passing by while a group of useless drunk men stood there on the beach doing nothing. ¡Vivan las mujeres!

Not a drop. But rain is still in the forecast for later this Wednesday night as well as for the rest of the week and the weekend. Meanwhile, we have two areas off our coast that look like they're going to form up into potential hurricanes, one in front of us and the other a little further to the south where the ocean water is even warmer. Both are expected to head for the coast, one potentially quite near us, so stay alert. Waves up to 4 meters are expected along our coast by next Tuesday.

From what I'm seeing on local social media, it looks like Banco HSBC has closed their Zihuatanejo branch. If you need to bank in person, I believe the nearest branch is in Acapulco. Otherwise you can continue using their app or website.

Hardly a visitor anywhere to be seen in Zihuatanejo. I've rarely seen all our downtown waterfront restaurants so empty. At least parking isn't a problem. But the shopkeepers, waiters and tour guides look sad.

Tucked away in a lovely gardened property less than a block from the beach at Playa La Ropa is another one of our hidden jewels with a French flair named Casa Iguana. Six luxurious bungalow suites with A/C, cable TV, Internet connection, kitchenettes, and garden terraces with living and dining areas. An absolutely perfect place for relaxing and losing track of time.
