We enjoyed a nice overnight rain that cooled things down and made for terrific sleeping, and this Wednesday morning everything was again washed clean, verdant and fragrant. The sun came out, the breeze picked up, and it turned into a balmy day of perfect tropical weather! This is my favorite time of year in Zihuatanejo.

The waves have been high and tides have been extreme. The combined effect has caused the waves to wash high over our local beaches. The waves have reached the walkway on the downtown beach and washed all the way up Playa La Madera. They've also made travelling to Isla Ixtapa from the poorly located and poorly built pier at Playa Linda quite risky. I'm surprised the Capitanía hasn't closed the Playa Linda pier. These are some of the largest waves we've had all year.

This is a great time of year to be here to enjoy the green hillsides, the empty beaches, your choice of seating and no wait times at your favorite restaurants. All the long-weekend visitors have left and the kids are back in school. Back to our lazy days and lazy ways in this beautiful tropical paradise. Aren't we lucky?
