This Saturday morning was mostly cloudy, though the sun eventually peeked out just long enough to convince folks to show up at the beach. Then the wind picked up. By around 5PM the bay was quite choppy, and the sand was blowing off the beach onto the walkway, sending most beachgoers packing. Folks returning from Las Gatas had the water taxis scrambling back and forth as the weather deteriorated.

The municipal government held a walk and run event this morning at the Cancha Municipal, so that meant loud leaf blowers all along the waterfront at 6AM and loud thumping disco music by 6:30AM that could be heard for several blocks in every direction and probably across the bay. No one could ever accuse them of having good manners, sorry to say.

Huracán Priscilla is fortunately moving away from us, and the remnants of Octave are dissipating well north of us. We may have dodged a bullet. The storm predicted to form up to our south and hug the coast is now predicted to be much less organized, and may not form into anything more dangerous than some wind gusts and rain, which is much better than a hurricane.

Quite a few visitors showed up today, and local shops and restaurants enjoyed some sales which I know they appreciated after a week of almost no sales.
