Genuinely want to know what successful protest achieves.

Sigh. This is what large protests achieve:
-pressure on the administration who may be fearful that large-scale riots and violence will break out, although that likely is what Trump is hoping for
-pressure on Congressmembers who may be fearful of losing their cushy seats
-pressure on mainstream media who may realize that their soft coverage of Trump doesn't reflect the national mood
-pressure on the courts whose judges read the papers and watch cable news too
-reassuring people on the fence that they are not alone in their opposition to this authoritarian regime.
-reassuring the public that the 1st amendment still exists, however tenuously

Protests achieve all that and more.

Surprised no one is happy the orange man who gave up his billionaire lifestyle to save the world brokered peace in Gaza this week…

Trump may not be sleeping in his gauche Trump Tower but he has in no way given up his billionaire lifestyle. And now he's upgrading his faded Trump 757 plane for a new, plush Qatari 747. That's serious corruption. In fact he's used the office to corruptly enrich himself many times over just in the last 9 months. (And I bet you still think he donates his salary to charity. How naive of you.)

The "peace" in Gaza isn't peace but a ceasefire. Progress yes but not close to peace. Even Netanyahu isn't really on board, having skipped the signing ceremony. These tensions have been ongoing for thousands of years and are not likely to stop now, considering this "peace" plan is threadbare and doesn't address any of the underlying problems.

Think it through Surfdude. It's important.
