Clouds once again provided some cover this Monday morning keeping the morning temperature somewhat mild until the clouds parted. There wasn't much breeze today, and once the sun shone through it warmed up quickly and stayed so all day.

A new flight between Zihuatanejo and Guadalajara began today on Volaris. They are programmed to fly 4 times a week between our two destinations: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sundays. This opens up all kinds of new possibilities for arriving to Zihuatanejo via Guadalajara instead of Mexico City as well as for flying around the country.

It takes my family a couple of days to recover from the emotions of the Día de los Ángelitos and Día de Muertos. All the "festivities" only add to the emotional stress. The local government seems to have taken all the solemnity out of these days that we use to commemorate much more respectfully. And I have to say, whoever thought it was a good idea to put a sawdust carpet design at the entrance to the Cancha Municipal should lose their aguinaldo. That was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen done at what used to be our zócalo. Everyone had to walk around it creating massive congestion, annoyance and inconvenience.

The mar de fondo effect seems to have petered out and the bay water is calm again with only small waves washing on our beaches.

Where did everyone go? Zihuatanejo sure emptied out fast after all the hubbub from the past few days.

Don't forget to come enjoy your favorite coffee at Café Caracol's terrace overlooking Plaza del Artista, the downtown beach and the street. They also make a delicious chocolate caliente that Lupita and I both love. A lovely place to start the day with a hot beverage and a pan dulce.

[image]One of the loveliest vacation lodgings at La Ropa and one of my very favorite properties to promote is Villa Zanzibar, a charming 3-bedroom private villa tucked away in the old original La Ropa community at the southern end of the beach a short easy walk up from the waterfront. Located in one of the most peaceful areas of our community, this is a place to feel relaxed and at home. (click to enlarge photo)
