We awoke to a clear cloudless sky with a clear view of the horizon. The temperature was mild, cool-ish for locals. Perfect for an early morning stroll and getting chores done. People were still arriving this morning while others were rubbing sore heads from the excesses of the previous day. My fresh-brewed locally grown coffee from Café Caracol tasted perfect!

Once again Protección Civil at the behest of the ayuntamiento de Zihuatanejo trapped, traumatized and removed a very small crocodile from Canal La Boquita where it correctly sought refuge from larger crocodiles that might eat it. Teaching it that humans are a threat and thus potentially making it more aggressive towards humans, the very thing that we're supposed to avoid doing. But neither the ayuntamiento nor local PC know what they're doing other than posing for photos. The little croc posed no threat to anyone, and they have ALWAYS sought refuge there in what's left of what used to be a much larger estuary. The ayuntamiento never used to bother them there until a couple of years ago when they apparently intentionally caused a crocodile hysteria based on a lie that a visitor had been killed by a croc while swimming at Playa Quieta when it was actually a shark. So the little one will stupidly be returned to a small overcrowded estuary full of large crocs who will likely eat it, which is why it sought refuge away from them in the first place. Such stupidity infuriates me!

Finally the Día de Muertos decorations are getting taken down. It won't be long until the Día de la Revolución decorations go up. Then Día de Guadalupe. Then Navidad. I just wish they'd stop hanging lights and things in the trees. Trees deserve more respect and better care, IMHO.

The Pacific Ocean remains quite pacific, and the surf has been quite frustrating for aficionados. It isn't expected to improve soon. Great for swimming. Amazing to see the entire beach zone in Ixtapa's Playa El Palmar full of people with absolutely no one swimming beyond the surf line even though the water is so calm and the waves so small. Mind boggling! Have we attracted that many people who really don't know how to swim?

I urge folks to make reservations now for Thanksgiving Dinner at Deborah's Restaurant on Ixtapa Boulevard! Her turkey dinners come with all the fixings and trimmings and by far the best pumpkin pie this side of the U.S. border. She has two seatings: at 5:30 and 7:30 P.M.
