This morning I was actually surprised that the parade for Día de la Revolución began before 8AM. I believe it was 7:50 or so when the military drums started and the actual marching began. It may be a record! I scoffed at the 7:30 time originally announced, but dang, they came close enough to get an ATTABOY!

And the parade went on and on and on and on, hour after hour after hour. The morning started off with some clouds that benefitted the first couple of groups of marchers, but once it came out it got warm quickly, especially for the marchers. I just didn't have time to watch them all, though I kept peeking through my window every now and then. More children march every year, and with them their parents follow them on the sidewalks causing some inconvenience for spectators. I believe the parade lasted until around 12:30 or so. Looooooong! Wore out both the marchers and the spectators.

Lots of visitors from north of the border were dancing to the music at Daniel's Restaurant this Thursday evening. And most of the tables on the beach were occupied by diners enjoying their meals and refreshments. Looked like a real party! It's good to see everyone having such a good time. It made the rest of the Paseo del Pescador seem dull and boring by comparison.

If you haven't made plans already, I highly recommend Thanksgiving Dinner at Deborah's Restaurant on the main boulevard in Ixtapa across from the Holiday Inn aka Hotel Presidente. She's accepting reservations for two seatings: at 5:30 and 7:30 P.M. Her turkey dinners come with all the trimmings: stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, mashed yams, gravy, veggies, salad, soup, and pumpkin pie for dessert. I may be forgetting something, but you get the idea. A real bellybusting meal!

An excellent way to enjoy our coastal region is from the ocean with its majestic views of the mountains.
