A bit warmer this Friday morning, though it still felt good to sleep under a sheet during the night, and the forecast looks like we're in for some warmer mornings in the coming days. The ocean has warmed up to 28.1°C, warmer than normal for his time of year. Hope we don't get any early hurricanes.

Visitors continue arriving, but in lesser numbers than last week. Sales not as good for local merchants as expected, but there do seem to be a few more affluent visitors around than last week. But the general consensus seems to remain as I've been stating all week, that the vacation period wasn't near as good as expected in spite of the cifras alegres reported by the local and state tourism authorities.

This Saturday the swells should be at their peak from the current mar de fondo event, reaching almost 2 meters, then they should subside over the next few days. Surfers will be busy the next few days.

Remember, the Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" happens every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:40 p.m. in the small plaza in front of the Vicente Guerrero school, across the street from the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande in downtown Zihuatanejo by the waterfront where La Boquita canal runs into the bay. Besides wonderful handcrafts, they feature a variety of homegrown produce, fresh foods including pastries, breads and tamales, fresh coffee, juices and mezcal.
