What a gorgeous day this jueves pozolero has been! We awoke to mild temperatures after an evening of sound sleeping. Sleeping under the sheets was optional. No rain again last night even though there'd been a chance in the forecast. It seems like every day there was a better than 50% chance of rain this week, and we barely even saw a sprinkle. ¡Tamos sala'o!

The lack of rain is affecting agriculture in our region.

Nary a tourist to be seen anywhere. This is the slowest time of the year, and it seems even slower than normal. Maybe we'll get lucky this weekend.

Don't forget, this Saturday and Sunday beginning at 7 in the morning there's a "Karma Surf" competition at Las Escolleras next to the channel entrance to Marina Ixtapa. There are around 50 competitors. It should be a lot of fun!

Also, we've got the Grito de Independencia coming up this Tuesday evening at the Palacio Municipal where they're planning a big party with music and fireworks. And the following day, September 16, is Día de la Independencia Mexicana. A day we consider well worth celebrating thanks to all the noble and selfless people who gave their all so that Mexico could be its own nation free from Spanish rule. On Wednesday morning there will be a big parade downtown, so come join in. One of the best places to watch it from will be the terrace of Café Caracol, part of our home, next to Plaza del Artista.
