¡Bienvenido otoño! Adiós verano.

This Monday has been a day of stormy weather though it hasn't rained since Sunday night. Scudding clouds and gusting winds have been present all day. The port of Zihuatanejo was closed to all vessels at 3PM this Monday afternoon as Tormenta Tropical Narda passed in front of our coast gaining intensity. We can expect wing gusts and rains to continue throughout the evening and into this Tuesday along with increasing wave activity from the storm as it continues gaining strength even though it's moving away from the coast. Waves are likely to be from 2.5 to 3.5 meters in height along the coast of Guerrero and Michoacán.

Amazingly local shop owners enjoyed decent sales this Monday although there were hardly any visitors around. The gusts of wind blowing sand onto the walkway kept people away from the downtown beach. By evening, a considerable amount of sand covered the Paseo del Pescador and was starting to accumulate in the plazas and the street. The hard-working barrenderos are going to have a rough Tuesday morning.

A big shout out to the folks at La Porteña for an excellent meal and a wonderful time this Sunday. They have never disappointed us except when they've been closed.
