Folks in Zihuatanejo enjoyed another day of exceptional weather, some of the best of the year. After rain being forecast earlier this week for the weekend, visitors who gambled and came anyway were rewarded handsomely with a calm ocean, mostly sunny skies, and temps hot enough to make the water more refreshing and cold drinks more delicious.

Kudos to all the U.S. patriots and amigos who showed up to protest against the criminal fascist regime in the USA! It was the largest protest in the history of the world! Astounding and encouraging! I was unable to attend the one in Zihuatanejo, but I stand in solidarity with the protestors.

A reminder in case you don't keep up with the news, eastern parts of Mexico suffered torrential rains and flooding late last week that so far has left over 70 people dead, at least that many missing, and over 100,000 homes affected, many losing everything to floodwaters. The worst hit areas are in Puebla, Veracruz, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, and Hidalgo. The local Sector Naval in Zihuatanejo located by the footbridge to La Noria is accepting donations to help the homeless and suffering. You can drop off donations between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM any day. Donations can include non-perishable canned and packaged foods such as tuna, sardines, rice, beans, sugar, cooking oil, coffee, tomato paste, cereals, powdered milk, crackers, baby food, and bottled water. Also cleaning products and personal hygiene articles such as bleach, detergent, soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, feminine sanitary products, diapers, toothbrushes, and blankets. Anything you can help with will be greatly appreciated.
