A cloudy Saturday morning kept downtown temperatures mild until the sun finally broke through. Once again, storm clouds could be seen on the horizon, some even drifted inland, and it may have rained to our northwest, but downtown Zihuatanejo didn't receive a drop. ¡'Tamos sala'o!

Much to the consternation of downtown business owners and residents as well as anyone trying to drive downtown for any reason, the municipal government kept several main streets closed all day since sunup. There was absolutely no reason for it, and it was a terribly inconsiderate and arrogant decision by someone. The parade doesn't start until after dark. Businesses lost money, and a lot of people had to waste a lot of time trying to find a place to park then having to walk blocks to get to their destination.

The parade for Día de Muertos should be passing by at any moment, though it appears to be starting late. I hope everyone who went to see it found a good spot. Café Caracol's upstairs terrace is one of the better locations.

While it's highly doubtful it will rain again this year, I remain hopeful for at least one more good rain to keep the hillsides green a little longer. The forecast gives low chances, but soon those chances will remain at zero for several months.
