Looks like a good read, but I disagree with its premise of a "500-year history" as will all Mexicans. "500 Years of Colonialism" would be a better title.

Looks like a good read, but I disagree with its premise of a "500-year history" as will all Mexicans. "500 Years of Colonialism" would be a better title.

The reviewer has the same criticism about the title but acknowledges that the book concentrates on the results of the jumble of different peoples and cultures that started with the Spanish Conquest.

Yeah, see there's the other part of the problem. It was a lot of things, but Mexicans don't like to call it a Conquista because we're still here, and the Spaniards aren't. More like a PLUNDERING.
