ApreZIHación por Nuestra Belleza Natural
¡Brrrr! Woke to some of that arctic air this Tuesday morning. Must've been at least 20°C, but it felt like 18°C! I almost thought I could see my breath. But the fresh hot locally grown coffee from Café Caracol warmed me up as much as the extremely bright sun in our crisp and clear blue sky.
The green is fading from our hillsides, a little more each day. They'll soon be barren and brown as our selva baja caducifolia goes into sort of a dry season hibernation until next May or June when the rainy season starts back up. Which is why it breaks my heart to keep seeing condos sprouting up on the hillsides overlooking Las Gatas and La Ropa, matando la gallina de los huevos de oro. Those wooded hillsides are part of our main attraction and our patrimony, they shouldn't be used as spoils for the pickings for people with money and influence. We've already lost most of the rest of our ecological zones thanks to unscrupulous politicians with a little help from well-meaning but misguided foreigners.
Poinsettias are for sale along with Christmas trees at Plaza Kioto. It's wayyy too early in the season for this nonsense, but there they are, nonetheless. I expect the municipal government will soon be putting up decorations along the waterfront and around the downtown area, too. [sarcasm]I can hardly wait to see them.[/sarcasm]
There's actually a slight chance of rain in the forecast for this coming Friday night. It'd be nice, but I'm not counting on it.
A 4.2 temblorcito was registered in the region during siesta time this afternoon. No damages to report.
Just a reminder that one of my favorite places to eat, Deborah's Restaurant on the boulevard in Ixtapa, is accepting reservations for her abundant and sumptuous Thanksgiving Dinner with all the fixings including her mouthwatering pumpkin pie for dessert, guaranteed to have you waddling away afterwards. There'll be two seatings: 5:30 and 7:30 P.M.

One of the nicest lodgings at Troncones that seems to have something for everyone is Casa de La Sirena. A luxurious private beachfront compound in Troncones featuring a 3-bedroom villa with a private pool, three 1-bedroom MiniVillas, and two side-by-side 2-story 1-bedroom bungalows that share a pool. Truly an oasis in paradise! (click to enlarge photo)

Las flores cuitlaxóchitl / nochebuena ya están en venta con árboles de Navidad en Plaza Kioto de Zihuatanejo. Personalmente, creo que es muy temprano para estar haciendo esto.
