Another nipper morning this Wednesday had me thinking about sleeping late, but nah! It was a beautiful morning for enjoying our absolutely picture-postcard-perfect weather!

It's a shame to see public green areas along La Boquita Canal with its trees and plants dying from lack of water. Not sure what the municipal government is waiting for. A place to put more rocks and cement? Neighbors aren't happy. One neighbor who had planted some palms near Plaza Kioto said the government removed them. W T absolute F? Of course, they also removed trees we and other neighbors had planted in Plaza del Artista to convert it into a cement alleyway. A reminder to never again vote for a politician who owns a cement company or who has family members who own one!

A friend mentioned the other day that people who were flying into Mexico on Volaris with some U.S.-bought roasted coffee beans for him in sealed bags had their coffee confiscated in Chihuahua. I checked, and roasted coffee for personal use is supposed to be allowed into Mexico according to the SRE's website. Has anyone else had a similar experience with coffee?

The bay remains calm. Surfers aren't finding much in the way of exciting waves. Even at La Saladita the waves remain small, though I've seen a few surfers out trying to ride them on the webcam on my LOCAL BEACHES page.

This Thursday people from the USA will celebrate a day of thanks, and many here in Mexico join them in the spirit of brotherhood. It's a day viewed quite differently by people with the blood of this land's indigenous people in their veins, but we still can be thankful and grateful for so much that we share, especially for the love of our family and friends. My family wishes all of you a heartfelt day of thanks for the love, the beauty and the goodness we are fortunate to enjoy. ¡Buen provecho!

For those not celebrating, enjoy your pozole this jueves pozolero!

[image]A place I really like to recommend, like an oasis in paradise, is Casa Tucanes. A beautiful vacation lodging located on the edge of La Ropa's coconut grove surrounded by lush gardens, a short walking distance to the beach. They offer three 1- and 2-bedroom villas, two 2-bedroom bungalows and two simple guest rooms. They also have a pool, they are pet friendly and wonderful hosts.
