The sardines continue schooling and the local fishermen continue lining the waterfront in the mornings trying to catch them and the bigger fish that chase after them. Seabirds soar, whirl and dive, enjoying the abundance of food. This a very rewarding time to live on the coast and be able to appreciate this marvel of nature.

I know we've heard it in previous years, but like Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown, Zihuatanejo's municipal government says that THIS YEAR skyrockets and explosive fireworks will not be allowed for the Peregrinaciones Guadalupanas. They say they'll be cracking down on violators. I'll believe it when I don't hear it.

Our temperatures have gotten milder, and our evenings have gotten cooler, making for perfect sleeping weather with the windows open and a fan on low or medium. But the waves continue to be so small that it's hard to hear them at night here in Zihuatanejo's bay. I guess that's why it was named the Pacific Ocean! D-uh!

Visitors from abroad continue arriving and we continue seeing more familiar faces, but it doesn't seem like we're anywhere near busy. Still relatively quiet around here for the most part.

Mi media naranja brillando como la luna llena frente al mar durante el anochecer en Zihuatanejo. Gracias a ella, soy el gringo más afortunado de México.
