Sunday morning felt even cooler than the previous day. Must be some of that mass of polar air filtering down through the valleys from the altiplano. ;-)

Many visitors returned home today as the Christmas vacation season officially ends. School starts back up tomorrow across Mexico, and life sort of returns to normal for us here, except that it's still the high season for vacationers from the USA and Canada, and there are a LOT of them here. Most of the restaurants along the downtown waterfront were full tonight with our snowbird visitors, looking mighty relaxed and enjoying themselves. A few middle class Mexican visitors are still around, and they were also filling several waterfront restaurants with their large families. It's good to see them showing up in larger numbers. But our northern neighbors are currently our biggest spenders, for whom we are very thankful. A shame some of them have to return home to a very ugly situation in their country. Our hearts go out to them.

The folkloric group singing at the Cancha Municipal tonight were excellent! They had a pretty good-sized crowd enjoying their music. I tried dancing a little, but it's hard to zapatear in sandals.

I had a little problem buying tequila today. My favorite store didn't have full liter-size bottles of my brand. They said there had been a lot of extranjeros buying tequila there. Now if you all aren't going to leave enough tequila for me, we're gonna have a problem. So knock it off! Don't touch that last liter-size bottle, and leave some for me. Got it? B-)

Yes, that was intentional. They've already run out of it! ¡Salud! :vacation:

Years ago, when I proudly boasted of the great price I paid at La Comer for a bottle of "Viuda de Romero" tequila, Rob said that's the favourite of the drunks who spend the night on Playa Principal.

I'm guessing Viuda de Romero isn't his favourite.

I was only kidding. That's actually a decent brand, but I sometimes see their small 250 ml bottles empty on the beach. It's actually not the cheapest brand that local drunks would buy. Un saludo.
