Monday morning was nowhere near as cool as the previous days had been. Better for all the schoolchildren who were on their way to school at sunrise after almost a month of vacations. It's a breath of fresh air to see the community return to its normal routine.

There are still plenty of vacationers around, just no more mobs like there had been. People were enjoying the beaches today without the crowds. The pace of life has slowed down. The din of humanity has quieted down.

On Mondays some waterfront restaurants close, yet others still don't get much business. So it was pretty quiet on the Paseo this evening downtown. An informal basketball game at the Cancha Municipal was the only thing happening. Se dice que los lunes ni las gallinas ponen.

Chisme has it that Daniel's Restaurant may be reopening soon with the same owners after remodeling. I have no idea if the chisme is true, but I hope so.

Still no snow or chilly temperatures, nothing but perfect weather predicted. Whales are in the region giving birth and breeching while gliding up and down our coast. As calm as the ocean is, now's an excellent time to out on the water whale watching, sightseeing, fishing, and to visit remote beaches.

One of the nicer more affordable vacation rentals in La Madera neighborhood is Casa Linda located atop the small hill at La Madera with views of the bay and town. Three apartments that can be rented all together or individually, each beautifully decorated with Mexican handcrafts, and they share a pool and Jazuzzi. One with two en-suite bedrooms and two with one bedroom each as well as a sofa or pull out bed.
