El Peso ZIHgue Fortaleciéndose
Wednesday morning we awoke to refreshing temperatures once again, and the fog once again rolled into the bay from the La Ropa grove. Well, what's left of it. Not as striking or colorful as yesterday. Clear skies eventually got cloudy, and the humidity rose to where you can smell it. Rain is in the region, so anything can happen. The chances are highest for rain this Friday, according to the government's forecast. Please, oh please! Let it rain!
While the state government continues supplying its cifras alegres, we sure aren't seeing much tourism in Zihuatanejo of any kind. Even the number of extranjeros seems less than in years past. We should be seeing more middle class Mexicans if flights are arriving full from Puebla, Morelia and the other new Mexican routes. Of course, if no one in our local tourism office is actually doing any active publicity in those destinations and instead they're just leaving it up to travel agents and "influencers", well, that would explain it.
The peso is stronger against the dollar than it's been in years. It hit 17.80 to the U.S. dollar today. I almost feel sorry for the businesses charging in dollars instead of pesos. They're losing out big time.
If it's Thursday then that means it's JUEVES POZOLERO in Guerrero! ¡Buen provecho!
