Many of us were awakened just after midnight early this Friday morning by our earthquake alarms, however, when we went into the street in front of our home we didn't see any of our neighbors heeding the seismic alert. I'd rather respond to 100 false alarms than not respond to one deadly quake.

Thursday evening we saw enormous storm clouds to our east in the sierra where heavy rains were reported. We were hoping they'd reach us, but all we got was a quake alert for a temblor in San Marcos, southeast of Acapulco. The booby prize. Storm clouds were still visible on the horizon this morning, and they returned again this Friday evening. So beautiful to see. A shame none of them have blown our way yet. I'll keep hoping. The humidity is wonderful for my skin!

This Saturday morning at 8:00 A.M. we're expecting the arrival of the cruise ship ms Europe 2. A few hundred passengers will most likely board tour buses and we might not even see most of them. But hopefully enough will wander our streets and make some purchases at local shops to boost local sales. However, they'll have just left Acapulco, so they might not be interested in doing much shopping where the local offerings are similar.
