This Sunday we enjoyed another cool morning in Zihuatanejo. Families in their cold-weather traveling clothes were wandering along the waterfront before the sun even rose, glad to be off the bus and in our warm oceanfront paradise. Waiting for the water-taxis to start at the pier so they could visit Playa Las Gatas for the day.

The beaches were fairly busy today wherever you went. Waterfront restaurants had a good day. The weather didn't disappoint. Clear skies and a wonderful breeze most of the day kept beachgoers happy and comfy, with a few clouds showing up early in the evening just in time for sunset.

The waves picked up a bit during the day. Nothing big, but at least the surfers could catch a few at the usual spots along the coast, mostly to our northwest. Monday looks like it might be a little better for surfers, and it appears the surfing will improve slightly as the week goes on.

There was also a wonderful folkloric music and dance event at the Cancha Municipal put on by Casa de la Cultura this Sunday evening. Lots of families strolling, enjoying the music and the waterfront restaurants. Mostly locals, but also quite a few extranjeros. Smiles and happy faces everywhere. This is what Zihuatanejo is all about.

An inviting place that will leave you wanting more of what they have to offer: a luxury bed and breakfast boutique hotel in a private villa overlooking La Ropa Beach with only 4 suites, a restaurant and a unique pool bar lounge offering a panoramic view of Zihuatanejo Bay and its beaches. They also have a two gourmet open-air restaurants that will transport you to a magical place full of temptations. (click to enlarge image)
