We got rain! Couldn't believe it! First I heard it, and I thought NAW MUST BE SOMETHIN' ELSE. But a quick peek out the window confirmed that it rained briefly here in downtown Zihuatanejo this Saturday morning. Made my locally grown coffee taste even better! Not enough rain to wash away the dust or the smell of urine, but it's better than nothing. It never did cool down much during the nighttime, and I could see low clouds most of the night. At sunrise it was still cloudy, and rain could be seen east-southeast of the bay, and that's what got us. Rain clouds are still in the vicinity this Saturday evening.
Sunday should be a repeat of this Saturday, complete with a small chance of rain. The temperature might be a degree or so cooler, but still no freeze or snow in the forecast, unlike Florida.
Our downtown beach was busy this Saturday with lots of out-of-towners. Mexicans, Canadians and Estadounidenses. Where there are no silly "Blue Flag" restrictions the people enjoy themselves much more, like beaches are supposed to be enjoyed. The beach still remains clean, and no one is treated like a criminal.
The municipal pier is full of people enjoying delicious paella this Saturday evening to raise money for the Club Rotario, people who do wonderful things for our community.
Don't forget to visit "Las Iguanas Bazar" in La Ropa next to Casa Tucanes this Sunday from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. where you'll find a fun time, the wonderful works of local artisans and merchants, and lots of sustainable products.

Imagine waking up here in the mornings at one of the bungalows at Casa Ki on the beach in Troncones, a peaceful remote tropical village on the warm and friendly southern coast of Mexico: a place where natural beauty still rules and time seems to slow down and stretch out at the same time. A place where stress simply doesn't factor into one's daily routine.
