It got cool last night and this Tuesday morning! Brrr! Must've been about 19°C when I woke up this morning. Had to turn the ceiling fan on low. I was looking for my mittens before going outdoors. But things warmed up nicely when the sun came out. There was a nice breeze for much of the day, and the ocean was calm with almost no waves. Good weather for sailing. Apparently a bunch of the cruisers agreed, because about half the sailboats left that were here the day before.

It was another sensational day for going to the beach or really for doing anything outdoors. Our local temperatures have been mild lately, and the cool evenings are perfect for sleeping with the windows open.

I was extremely saddened this morning to hear of the passing of one of the heroes of my youth, Rev. Jesse Jackson. I loved hearing him speak back in '84, I think it was, at the University of Florida while I was a student there."I AM SOMEBODY!" Whatever his shortcomings, the nation owes him a debt of gratitude for his contributions to civil rights and for bringing home a lot of citizens held as prisoners abroad.

Guadalupe Gaytán is having an opening cocktail for the exhibition of her art this Wednesday evening at 7PM at the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande de Guerrero. See you there!

Not sure what all the helicopter activity was at the local navy base. If only we had real local reporters instead of propagandists for local politicians. ;-)

The downtown waterfront was full of folks from north of the border this Tuesday evening. I think they outnumbered the Mexicans we saw! Restaurants were full. The pier was busy. And a basketball game was happening at La Cancha Municipal. Sales were slow today for local merchants, but our visitors are spending money purchasing local goods, and that is extremely important to us now. ¡GRACIAS!
