I saw the first bus arrive this Thursday morning while walking with Blue, our dog, at sunrise. The flights arriving today from Mexico City brought more visitors. As expected, Semana Santa vacationers been arriving slowly but surely all day. Things will pick up this Friday, and the weekend should see a massive arrival of visitors. After seeing the beach mostly empty all week, families started arriving and picking their spots. Kids were flying kites while their parents relaxed in the shade at Zihuatanejo's downtown beach this afternoon.

Storm clouds could be seen to the east in the sierra this afternoon. Teasing us again.

So far everything looks perfect for an enjoyable vacation experience. The weather and the ocean appear to be cooperating. A few jellyfish in the water, but not everywhere. And where there are jellyfish there will be sea turtles looking to eat them, so keep your eyes out for them if you're out on or in the water.

The waves are still insignificantly small in Zihuatanejo Bay, and the bay was calm, cool and clear early this morning. Boat traffic will stir it up, so the best time to go snorkeling is early when it's clearest and calmest.

For you retirees and such, enjoy dining out while you can. It's not going to be so easy or so much fun in the coming days. Locals will be busy working, so we just hunker down and stay busy. We'll have plenty of time to enjoy out town later.

The mayor of course has planned a lot of events for Semana Santa, but since most will be at the double monument to PRI corruption known as the Partenón, whose builder threatened and extorted from my wife's family, I refuse to promote anything taking place there. For those interested in attending those events, I hope you'll forgive my stubbornness and comprehend my principles.

It features a fully equipped kitchen, internet access, cable & satellite TV, 24-hour security, and a pool and sun deck right out the front door. There are still dates available for the holidays.
