It was a little cooler this Wednesday morning. Nice! And the temperatures remained mild all day with a nice breeze for beachgoers at Playa Principal. Families were everywhere. All enjoying themselves, many doing things prohibited by the stupid Blue Flag rules the municipal government imposes on other beaches. Enjoying the beach as it's supposed to be enjoyed. Free and happy! No searched bags like they were criminals. No confiscated booze or condiments for their picnics. It was a perfect beach day!

Shamefully and stupidly, the municipal government removed a crocodile that was missing one of its claws from La Boquita canal where it had arrived overnight to seek refuge. Not only have they caused it more and unnecessary pain and trauma, they've now taught it that humans represent a threat. So now it will be more of a threat to humans than it was. So stupid and unnecessary. And of course, they'll release it in an overcrowded estuary where it will be easy prey for larger crocs.

The constant background noise from the presence of so many visitors is part of the local landscape at this time of year. Lots of laughter! So good to hear, but of course we'll all be relieved when it's all over and the crowds are gone and we can get a peaceful night's sleep and enjoy a quiet siesta in the afternoon.

GO ARTEMIS II ! How about that launch? Had me white-knuckled and in tears of pride and joy at the same time. I used to live in Titusville, and I also witnessed many launches of the space shuttle from all parts of Florida when I lived there. What brave souls all astronauts are! Sitting atop powerful but extremely explosive rockets with millions of components all made by the lowest bidder.

NASA trivia: astronauts say their most popular food is tortillas.
