We're still enjoying relatively mild weather, but the humidity keeps scooching up there overnight. A reminder that the rainy season is right around the corner. Still cool enough to sleep under a sheet at night. We're enjoying this while it lasts. Any day now there'll be a puff of warm humid air from the south that will change the local weather completely.

We're expecting swells of close to 2 meters high beginning this Friday and lasting about 4 days. Surfers will enjoy this, but Ixtapa's El Palmar will probably have black flags flying warning people not to enter the water. The Capitanía should probably close the pier at Playa Linda, but I doubt they will.

While there continue to be crowds here, numbers are down from last week, and we're still not seeing an increase in more affluential tourists that was common in past years. Still too many folks complaining about the prices and tipping.

As if things weren't bad enough, the state authorities that govern public transportation appear to be trying to raise the taxi rates. Most people here have stopped using taxis because they're too expensive for those of us who work here for a living, so they will have even less clients and want to raise their rates again. The problem is too many taxi concessions (permits). Hurry up, Uber!
