UPDATE - Arrival of the tall ship Cuauhtémoc

We were in our crow's nest with binoculars waiting for it! Yes, that is actually what we call our view point.

It's going to hold station until early in the morning. Instead of the crew getting a little early liberty ashore, they'll have to wait until the pier maintenance is up to snuff for the politicians' photo ops. Crap like this is why so many working people (i.e. enlisted personnel) in the military have nothing but contempt for the politicians who make their lives harder than they have to be. The municipal government had weeks, months to do maintenance on the pier, but no, they had to wait until the last minute. A shame they don't maintain the pier for those of us who live here and use it every day like they do for the politicians whom we almost never see there except once in a blue moon for a photo op.
