The tall ship Cuauhtémoc is currently sitting just outside Zihuatanejo's bay this Friday evening. Depending on your vantage point along the coast, it may be visible to you already. It's scheduled to enter the bay at 8AM Saturday morning with its crew on the masts. Not sure about the tours that were promised since it's not going to be here as long as originally planned, and the politicians getting the photo ops are going to eat up a lot of its time in port. So far there's been no public announcement about the tours that I'm aware of, but yesterday the mayor said people registered for tickets would be contacted. You may be able to see it on the webcams. I could see it on the one from the beach level at La Madera a little while ago.

Thursday night it got cool again. Around 22°C. Had to turn the fan down low and scootch up close to my sweetie to stay warm under the sheets. Brrrr!

This Friday morning we awoke to bright clear skies and lots of folks fresh off the bus walking around dragging their suitcases and carrying coolers and bags of food to get them through the day during their visit to Playas Las Gatas, posing for photos in front of the decorations.

This weekend Formula 1 is in Mexico City for the Gran Premio de México on Sunday at 2PM.

Don't miss the Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" that happens every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:40 p.m. in the small plaza in front of the Vicente Guerrero school, across the street from the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande in downtown Zihuatanejo by the waterfront where La Boquita canal runs into the bay. Besides wonderful handcrafts, they feature a variety of homegrown produce, fresh foods including pastries, breads and tamales, fresh coffee, juices and mezcal.
