Lady M sent me these photos showing the ongoing street repairs in front of her place on Juan N. Alvarez street. As you can see they are doing things the old-fashioned way. Notice the construction of the manhole where all the pipes meet. Isn't that how they used to do it in the USA back when our grandparents were kids? I believe we are supposed to call this "progress".
Note the rusty old pipe in the first photo. We have LOTS of those all over the place, mostly lost underground until the water or sewage starts flowing to the surface after the pavement caves in. Now you see why we always recommend never to drink water from the tap. ;~)
