Aaaaaah, good onya Gene..... the ol Douglas C-47 "Skytrain" work-horse transports! Like the fixed-wing DC-3 cargos TOO, you can probaby STILL see a few of them in FULL work-horse operation in-n-around Costa Rica these days..... hauling "whatever"!
And per your earlier Vet's Day post, I too "sent my Dad up" on his 70th birthday for some walloping 'barrel rolls' in a WWII Douglas TBD Devastator, out of French Field in Temecula, CA (outside San Diego).....
The ol Da nearly DIED.... of sheer EXCITEMENT!!!
