What about car jackings in the good old perfectly safe USA or Canada? I am way more concerned as to how some of those guys drive the combi, they are incentivized to get their routes done by a scheduled time. Sometimes I walk from Ixtapa to Zihuatanejo and take a combi back, sometimes I regret taking the combi.
